Julie Davies
OWNER
I am the owner of the nursery along with my husband Cliff. I have worked in childcare since 1992 and have seen many changes in the early years in this time. I have an early year’s foundation degree and a B.A honours in early years practice . I have a deep love and respect for children, and I am driven in helping all children develop to their full potential. I am very much a hands-onowner. I encourage all my staff to develop their expertise in all areas of childcare. I am regularly in all rooms supporting and teaching staff. The wellbeing of the children is extremely important to me and I strive to ensure all children who attend the nursery feel, confident, loved, valued and safe.
Clare Bullimore
MANAGER
I have worked at Best Friends Day Nursery since it opened in 2006, I am NVQ level 5 qualified and level 4 qualified in management and Leadership.I have attended many courses over the years. I am a mum and have 2 children, Kyle and Hollie. I started out as an Early Years Practitioner and progressed through to Room Leader of the baby room and then Deputy Manager to now Manager. I do still have a passion for the under twos and am often found in and around the baby room. I connect with children and feel a great sense of accomplishment in helping children achieve and enjoy their time at nursery, working with children gives me much joy and happiness. I am the coordinator for parent partnership with Laura Wyatt and am free if parents want to discuss anything whether advice or guidance.
Hayley Wright
Deputy Manager
I've worked at best Friends Day Nursery since it first opened in 2006, I have my NVQ level 4 CCLD and have attended many courses that helps me to support the children and their families within the rooms. I have two daughtersLeilah and Willowso I am able to empathise with parents dropping their children off for the first time. I work alongside Laura Wyatt organising smooth transitions for the children moving rooms
Emily Geden
Caterpillars - Room leader
Emily has gained a Level 3 Diploma in children’s, care, learning and development She has fantastic knowledge of the EYFS and is always planning great sensory and messy play activities for the babies. Emily is the most caring practitioner and is fantastic at story telling.
Lisa Meredith
Caterpillars - Senior Early years Practitioner
Lisa has gained a level 3 diploma in children’s, care learning and development. Lisa is the senior member of staff in the baby room to help support the room leader. Lisa has two daughters Hallie and Eva. Lisa is kind and caring and very approachable if you ever have any concerns
Michelle Russell
Caterpillars - Early Years Practitioner
I have worked at Best Friends since 2008 and have gained a level 2 and 3 in children’s, care, learning and development. I have a daughter called Erin. I plan great activities in the baby room, and you will always see me dancing with the children
Leticia O’sullivan
Caterpillars - Early Years Practitioner
I have worked at Best Friends since September 2017 I have gained an NVQ level 2 in children’s, care, learning and development. I love singing and I give the most amazing cuddles to the children.
Ellie Stretton
Caterpillars - Early Years Practitioner
Ellie has worked at Best Friends since 2018 she is currently completing her Level 2 Diploma in children’s, care, learning and development. Ellie loves working in the baby room and gives the most amazing cuddles
Kelly Stokes (PANCO) (WELCOM)
Ladybirds - Room Leader
I have been at the nursery since March 2008, and am qualified at level 4 in childcare, learning and development. I am the Nursey PancO which allows me to support the children’s Nutrition and exercise .I have 2 daughters Yasmin and Poppy. As a mum I have a good understanding of how hard it can be to leave your child for the first time, so I am able to offer advice and support to those families I bring to the nursery a happy, fun and caring attitude, ensuring that the children laugh and feel content whilst they are here.
Craig Rodric
Ladybirds - Early Years Practitioner
I have been at Best friends since September 2013 and hold a level 3 in Childcare, learning and development. I have completed training courses to help improve my practice in delivering the curriculum to the children in a fun and exciting way. I have 2 boys Jayden and Caelun as a parent am able to support families and offer advice and guidance As the only man in the nursery I have a huge responsibility as the male role model for the children, I enjoy teaching the children about a range of topics from superheroes and space to bugs and wildlife.
Nicki Williams (SENCO)
Ladybirds - Early Years Practitioner
I have gained my e level 3 and 5 CCLD, care, learning and development. I have previously worked as a childminder for thirteen years and have gained lots of experience with children of different ages. I have three boys of my own. I am currently a Named Senco and work alongside Helen to support children who have additional needs. I love being creative with the children and I am a great storyteller!
Laura Wyatt (Parent Partnerships and Head of Transitions)
Ladybugs - Room Leader
I have worked at Best Friends Day Nursery within the toddler room since it first opened in October 2006, I am the room leader of the Ladybugs and have gained a lot of experience over the years. I hold my NVQ level 4 in childcare, learning and development and have attended many courses that have helped improve my practice. I have a caring and loving attitude and love supporting the children in my care ensuring they reach their full potential Alongside the deputy manager; I support the transitions within the nursery. I am also the named officer for parent partnership, my role being to ensure positive relationships with children and their families, and to be able to offer advice and guidance. I am a mum to my daughter Emilie .
Sjaan Lewendon (WELCOM)
Ladybugs - Early Years Practitioner
Sjaan has worked at Best Friends since 2015 she has gained a level 3 Diploma in CCLD. Sjaan is a mum to Amelie. Sjaan is fantastic at singing songs with the children and is the most energetic and smiley person you will ever meet

I have worked at Best Friends since July 2019 I have gained a level 3 Diploma in children’s, care, learning and development. I love reading stories to and being exploring the outside environment with the children
Lyndsey Woodfine (INCLUSION OFFICER)
Ladybugs - Early Years Practitioner
I have gained a Level 3 Diploma in children’s, care, learning and development.I returned to Best Friends in 2019 after leaving for six years to spend time with my children Danielle and Jasmine. I am the Inclusion officer within the setting. I love working in the ladybug room you will always find me singing and dancing with the children and being creative.
Amy Richardson ( SOCCO ) Head of WELCOM
Preschool - Room Leader
I have been with the nursery since August 2016 and hold a degree in early childhood studies, I am the Safeguarding Officer within the setting. I have two daughters called Molly and Esmay I bring to the nursery a caring and warm nature; I love getting the children to express creativity and using their imagination through Helicopter Stories and help to support children to develop understanding of phonics.
Helen Fairbrother (Lead SENCO and Forest school)
Preschool - Early Years Practitioner
I have worked at the nursery since April 2010 and have completed my NVQ level 3 in Childcare, learning and development,I have a son called Harry. I am the Senco officer within the setting who helps support the children throughout the whole nursery. I have attended workshops for supporting children with Autism and have completed Portage training. I am also the Forest School Leader who plans exciting activities outside. I bring to the nursery energy, warmth and patience, developing resilience and a can-do attitude in the children I care for.
Laura Greatorex
Preschool - Early Years Practitioner
I have been with the nursery since October 2011 and joined as an apprentice, I have since completed my level 3 childcare, learning and development. I have worked in all rooms throughout the nursery and formed good attachments with the teams, and the children. I bring to the nursery a very loving and caring nature and am able to support all the children within the setting ensuring they reach their full potential. I am a mum to Alfie.
Wendy Grossman
Nursery Assistant
I have worked at Best friends since 2011, previously I worked for several years in adult social gaining my NVQ level 2. I have 2 grown up children and thoroughly enjoy being a mum. My role in the nursery is to support the staff and cover them should they need time out to complete paperwork, I love to read stories and sing silly songs to the children and they can always come to me for cuddles. I bring to the nursery a happy and enthusiastic attitude, I have a friendly, loving and approachable nature and am very hardworking. I can often be seen buzzing around the nursery, doing things such as watering the vegetables to helping in the kitchens, on occasions a search party has been sent out to find me I get that engrossed in my work.
Jenny Randles
Head Cook
I have been at the nursery since November 2007, I hold an NVQ level 2 in food preparation and cooking andhave completed courses such as Basic food hygiene and safer allergy awareness. I ensure all the children receive nutritious food and can cater for any special dietary requirements along with my team in the kitchen. We regularly review and look at the menus and introduce new foods, through festivals and events. I am available to parents should they have any questions or queries regarding the menus or diets.
Kate Carnelley
Assistant Cook
I have gained a Btech in Hotel and Hospitality s well as an City and Guilds in catering. I am very passionate about food and nutrition Ii have a great relationship with all the children and staff. I have two daughters called Daisy and Molly and being brought up on a farm I have a wide knowledge on Great British produce .
Carol Stanners
Assistant Cook
Carol joined the nursery in 2019 she helps the cook prepare the meals for the children and loves getting to know the children in the rooms. Carol is such a lovely lady and goes above and beyond to help anyone.
