pre school room
The pre-school room is colourful and exciting. The staff are experienced and trained to deliver the early years foundation stage. The children are free to work at their own pace with the emphasis on learning through play.
Problem Solving Reasoning & Numeracy
Children work in small or large groups, alone or with adult support to extend their mathematical language and abilities through weighing, counting, sorting and number recognition.
Language and literacy
Children will be able to have opportunities to look at and make books. There is a writing table for children to practise mark making. Children will be introduced to letter sounds
Personal and social development
Through the use of puppets and talk time the children will be encouraged to express their feelings and talk through any worries they have. They will be encouraged to be independent and gain confidence in what they do.
Knowledge and understanding of the world
Children will have opportunities to explore the world around them through investigating, recording and having hands on experience in different areas such as planting, sand and water play, magnets and computer skills.
Physical development
Children have at least two play times a day, hopefully weather permitting most of the day can be spent outside investigating and covering all areas of the foundation stage. Children will have opportunities to ride bikes, throw, catch, build and climb.
Creativity
Children will be introduced to colour, texture and have opportunities to play in our two role-play areas. They will be encouraged to play with construction toys.
